The debut album with the new name, The Gift of Gamewas released in November 1999, when the band was chosen to open for the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

In October 2000, Crazy Town released Butterflythird single from The Gift of Game. The song, which contained a sample of Pretty Little Ditty of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, embodied the whole style of Crazy Town, perfectly combining rock and rap. The track remained at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks and, to this day, remains the band’s biggest hit.

The second album, Darkhorse, failed to replicate that success. And Crazy Town broke up. Shifty Shellshock kicked off his solo career. The first album, Happy Love Sickreleased in 2004, was well received in several European countries.
