RTL102.5, the main radio broadcaster in Italy, won the prestigious “Golden Microphone” award in the current affairs category thanks to the ‘Protagonists’ programme, broadcast live from Monday to Friday from 7pm to 9pm. The broadcast is hosted by Francesco Fredella, together with Gianni Simioli, Francesco Taranto and Antonio Sica, directly from the studios located in Rome-Fiumicino airport. The awards ceremony will be held on July 4th at the Campidoglio in Rome.
‘Protagonists’ stands out for its playful tone in telling the news of the day, hosting a wide range of characters: actors, athletes, politicians, artists, all connected by telephone. The program is famous for its unpredictability, as underlined by the motto of its hosts. And also the first broadcast to have a studio inside one of the largest airports in the worldfrequented by millions of passengers.
Francesco Fredella is a professional journalist, graduated in Literature with honors from the University of Foggia. Born in 1984, he is originally from Foggia but considers himself Roman by adoption. In addition to being head of the press office of the RTL102.5 Group, he is known as the radio host of ‘Protagonisti’, broadcast on RTL 102.5 every evening from 7pm to 9pm.
Fredella also collaborates with Libero, Il Tempo, the weekly magazine Chi and Gente. She is a commentator on Storie Italianespin-off of Uno Mattina on Rai1 for ten years, and sent for Rai1 to programs such as “Italian Saturday” and “Storie Vere”, as well as summer episodes of “La vita in diretta”. You worked as a commentator for five years on Pomeriggio 5 on Canale5, later collaborating with Gruppo Cairo Editore (Nuovo Tv) and Novella 2000, where you signed important scoops, such as the exclusive interview with Gina Lollobrigida. His passion for radio was born at the age of 18, right in Foggia, and he started working in local broadcasters during his high school years, an experience that profoundly marked his career.
