A huge success for the first edition of ComisoRace. 420 athletes, plus families, friends and supporters “invaded” the streets of the historic center.
Sunday 23 June, in the name of sport, healthy competition and the discovery of the most important streets of the historic centre, in a ten kilometer route which saw the presence of 420 participants, including nationally renowned athletes. “The first edition of the Comiso Race was a great success – declares the mayor of Comiso – which we created thanks to the great contribution of the Athlon Kamarina association which involved athletes from many other sports associations. Among the participants, also Kenyan athletes and others from Burundi and Francesco Ingargiola, internationally renowned athlete for prizes and recognitions, representative of the Italian Yellow Flames. It was a healthy competition, in the name of sport and the highest values contained in it. All the athletes were fantastic – continues the mayor of Comiso – among which the first three stood out, KimutaiJoseph Kimeli, Intunzinzi Louis, Vincenzo Agnello for the male athletes, and fourth place was a young promise from Comisana, Federico Cantelli, born in 2006. special recognition also goes to Sebastiano Caldarella, no less than born in 1935, therefore 89 years old, who completed the ten kilometer route in one hour and twenty-one minutes. As for female athletes, Federica Cernigliaro, Claudia Licciardi and Angela La Monica ranked in the first three places. Our city was once again the scene of an event that we intend to repeat over the years, considering the great success and satisfaction rating it aroused. Seeing Comiso full of visitors from all over Italy is a piece that adds to all the other initiatives put in place and which, to date, have proven to be truly harbingers of tourists and visitors.
