ORIA – In recent days, the city of Oria has firmly reiterated its commitment to supporting people with autism spectrum disorders and their families. Also present in the dedicated meeting were the Undersecretary of Health, Marcello Gemmato, and the MEP Michele Picaro. The event, which took place in the Council Chamber of the Municipality of Oria, saw a wide participation of citizens, representatives of institutions and local associations.
The initiative was characterized by interventions that underlined the need for continuous and decisive commitment to guarantee the inclusion of people with autism spectrum disorders. “We have strongly reiterated our commitment to increasingly effective inclusion – declared the councilor for Social and Health Services Elena Marrazzi – We want to ensure that every member of our community has the same opportunities and the support necessary to live a full life and integrated”.
The Undersecretary of Health, Marcello Gemmato, praised the initiative of the Municipality of Oria and underlined the importance of a collective commitment to promote social inclusion. “Inclusion is a shared responsibility – declared Gemmato – and I am happy to see a community so determined to make a difference for people with autism spectrum disorders”.
Michele Picaro then emphasized the value of collaboration between local and national institutions to ensure that inclusion policies are effective. “Your commitment is an example for the whole nation – said Picaro – We will continue to support you in this important path”. “Our success depends on everyone’s collaboration – said the mayor of Oria Cosimo Ferretti – Together we can build a more inclusive city, where every individual is valued and supported”.
