AC/DC Gold Reissues: celebrating 50 years of rock career

After the success of the first nine reissues which conquered the Italian charts of the best-selling physical albums, from Friday 21 June, Six new legendary AC/DC records are available on gold vinyl. These limited editions (Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings) were released to mark the 50th anniversary of the iconic rock’n’roll band’s career. Titles include: If You Want Blood You’ve Got It, Let There Be Rock, Ballbreaker, Stiff Upper Lip, Rock or Bust And 74 Jailbreak.

Each gold vinyl LP is accompanied by a 12″x12″ poster unique to each album, with the new “AC/DC 50” graphics. These exclusive posters are perfect for collecting and framing, making these reprints a must-have for any AC/DC fan.

If You Want Blood You’ve Got It AC/DC’s first live album, released in the fall of 1978, is considered one of rock and roll’s greatest live recordings. This gold vinyl edition pays homage to that iconic period of the band.

Let There Be Rock Released in Australia in March 1977 and around the world that summer, the album is notable for its legendary AC/DC logo. During the recording of the solo for the title track, Angus Young’s amplifier is said to have overheated and caught fire, adding a legendary note to his story.

Ballbreaker This 1995 album marked the band’s second collaboration with producer Rick Rubin, following the single “Big Gun” from the film’s soundtrack Last Action Hero. Ballbreaker is a fundamental piece of AC/DC’s discography.

Stiff Upper Lip Released in 2000, the album sees the band reunite with George Young, Angus and Malcolm’s older brother, producing for the first time in over a decade. The album cover features a bronze statue of Angus Young, which became an integral part of the tour’s scenery.

Rock or Bust The 2014 album was the first to feature Stevie Young, nephew of Angus and Malcolm, on rhythm guitar. It reached #1 on the charts in 12 countries and was in the top 5 in 12 others, further cementing AC/DC’s global success.

74 Jailbreak Released in 1984, this album contains songs recorded in 1974 and 1976, offering a fascinating retrospective of the band’s early years.

The first nine albums released on gold vinyl included Back in Black, Highway to Hell, The Razors Edge, Power age, For Those About to Rock (We Salute You), High Voltage, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Who Made Who And Live. In Italy, the reprints of Back In Black And Highway To Hell they entered the TOP 5 of the FIMI/GfK ranking of the best-selling physical albums of the week and the TOP 20 of the general ranking.

From 2 to 8 July, the AC/DC dive bar will be active at The Vanguard in Camden in Londonon exclusive gadgets for fans. Furthermore, AC/DC is currently on the “POWER UP TOUR EUROPE 2024” tour, continuing to fill stadiums and celebrate half a century of rock’n’roll.
