It is Il Giunco El Niño that prevails in the 13th edition of the “Amico Billo” 7-a-side football Memorial, in Arborea. A tournament dedicated to Franco “Billo” Cabasino, a young sportsman from the town who died prematurely, organized by Amerigo Colusso and Luciano Zurru on behalf of the Giunco ASD, the Ellelleffe company and the Movimento Sportivo Popolare.
In the final, played on the synthetic grass sports field dedicated to “Don Bosco”, the victory came against the “cousins” of Giunco Arborea by 4-3. In third position, however, Giunco SB and L’Ultimo Canto del Gallo. During the final evening, other awards were also awarded; the Discipline Cup went to the US Juniores, while among the individual awards Andrea Sanna took home the title of top scorer, Roberto Petucco the title of Best Goalkeeper, Andrea Corda the best midfielder, Gianluca Mascia the best defender, best young player Gabriele Sperandio and Simone Obinu, best players Paolo Atzeni and Federico Trudu, and, finally, a lifetime achievement award for Antonello Casula.
