Hate campaign on social media and death threats to justice collaborator Bonaventura: «The repentant and their children must die»
CROTONE – «The collaborators of justice are rubbish, they are not men, they must die with all their family members, they deserve to be dissolved in acid». «It is better for the children of the repentant not to be born, they must die in the cradle». “Soon they will also take the Bonaventura relatives to the afterlife.” Threats are unleashed during live broadcasts on Tik Tok by the repentant Luigi Bonaventura, who has long been involved in a “social anti-mafia” project, and “live” events are organized to delegitimize justice collaborators and announce their extermination. Threats often come from anonymous nicknames. Like that “Reggina 1914” which even justifies infanticide, if they are children of collaborators of justice, because “that is the seed” and the repentants are not “men”. But there is also the mud machine that starts from those with a recognizable name and face.
“There is an ongoing campaign of delegitimization against collaborators, made up of apologia of the mafia and incitement to violence,” Bonaventura, who presented a complaint to the Catanzaro DDA asking to be questioned by the anti-mafia prosecutors and attaching videos taken from the social. The complaint was prepared by the lawyer Francesco Guido, who also presented a complaint to the DDA of Naples because another justice collaborator he assisted, the former Camorra member Francesco Mazzarella, suffered death threats by speaking on Bonaventura’s live broadcasts: “I’ll break your head.” «We are not faced with individuals who demonstrate their social discomfort but with a well-organised strategy by those who have decided, on the one hand, to denigrate justice collaborators and, on the other, to incite users to social hatred in towards them”, says the lawyer Guido.
Some examples. “I’m challenging you,” the owner of a well-known pizzeria in Crotone tells Bonaventura, in his live broadcast. Whoever intervenes is no exception. They accuse Bonaventura of being a “junkie” or of having forced someone to bring him underage girls when he was a fugitive. Often those who rant are defendants and family members of defendants who ended up on trial following his revelations. All documented and attached to the complaints which could now trigger a judicial mechanism to shed light on those who pull the strings of social hatred towards mafia turncoats. “Someone accuses us of killing children, but the majority of those who have the status of collaborators of justice are not accused of murder, some even have a clean criminal record”, says Bonaventura again. «I also host magistrates in my live social networks “Striscia l’antimafia”, I contribute to removing supporters of the mafia. This after having made statements that helped the magistrates and the police to dismantle the gangs of the ‘ndrangheta jonica and after having named the business mafia. It’s understandable why they are angry with me, threatening me with death”, adds Bonaventura.
In the background, a paradox remains: the revocation of the protection program since 2014 for Bonaventura. His family members, as already reported by the newspaper, had to appeal to the TAR of Lazio to be readmitted to the program, proposing an appeal against the provision of the Central Commission of the Ministry of the Interior which had revoked the protection despite the opinions of the DDA of Catanzaro and the DNA in favor of the extension, also considering the procedural commitments and the need to safeguard his and his relatives’ safety. But he doesn’t give up, he founded the association “Supporters of collaborators and witnesses of justice” and has a “social anti-mafia” project.
