(Agen Food) – Naples, 21 June. – AND Daniela Zuñigaa 35-year-old Chilean pizza chef, to win the most coveted title during the XXI edition of the Caputo Trophy Pizza Chef World Championshipthat of the Neapolitan Pizza STG

Extremely excited, Zuñiga expresses her gratitude towards the art of the Neapolitan pizza chef. It is from here, in fact, that her adventure in the professional world of pizza began: she attended master classes conducted by Neapolitan masters in Chile.

For 3 years he has been running his own pizzeria in Ranco. “I am really happy to bring such a prestigious award to Chile. I love Naples, I love pizza and I love this profession. Winning the Trophy is very important for me because it confirms that I have chosen the right teachers and it amply repays me for all the sacrifices made” she declared, moved, as soon as she got off the podium.

The Championship, which saw the 12 categories take place in Pavilion 1 of the Mostra d’Oltremare, was followed by a big party, organized to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mulino Caputo.

“This year was a truly special Championship: in 2024 we will celebrate one hundred years of life of the Caputo Mill and there couldn’t have been a better opportunity to share our satisfaction and joy with friends, collaborators and pizza chefs from all over the world. We welcomed a record number of foreign delegations: 35 with 600 competitors from 5 continents, all converging in Naples, which confirms itself as the capital of pizza. We are pleased with the impressive youth participation and the variety of categories in which the participants compete: from American to contemporary, from gluten-free to fried pizza – declared Antimo Caputo.

We thank theAPN – Neapolitan Pizza Makers Association for having organized the competitions impeccably and we hope, for next year, that a universal dish like pizza can act as a bond between peoples: we would like to see Russians and Ukrainians, Palestinians and Israelis. For us it would be a great success and, since every year we see how the Caputo Cup manages to forge friendships between participants from all over the world, we are confident that this too can happen”

The Caputo family was moved and enthusiastic, with Carmine, Antimo, Eugenio and Mauro to celebrate this iconic XXI edition, culminating with the traditional cutting of the cake, prepared by maestro Sabatino Sirica.

The management of the competitions was entrusted to the historic and tireless voice of the Championship, that of Enzo Calabreseaccompanied by Claudia Mercurio and supported by the “incursions” of Linen of Anjou; the evening and the awards, by the television host Julius Goliath.
