Mayor Valerio Vesprini, in relation to recent episodes of vandalism against public and private property and violent altercations resulting in acts of violence, issues a contingent and urgent ordinance effective from today, June 21st.

“What was signed today is just one of the measures that I have decided to adopt in agreement with the Prefecture”, explains the mayor.

From 10pm to 6am the following day, the sale of drinks to take away in glass containers, cans or other materials that could potentially be used as an instrument capable of offending or disturbing physical safety and public order is prohibited.

The consumption of drinks, including alcoholic ones, remains permitted inside public establishments and in adjacent external areas. Sale with home delivery is always reserved, in compliance with hygiene and health regulations for both packaging and transport activities.

From 8pm to 6am the following day, there is also a ban on possessing any type of container potentially usable as an instrument capable of offending, in public areas or areas open to the public.

“The risk of disorder phenomena, similar to those of last weekend, may also be further increased by ‘itinerant’ consumption. Potential dangers were also found in the event of abandonment and crushing of containers. Furthermore, takeaway sales can lead to, or in any case facilitate, gatherings at particular times of the day in the streets and have repercussions on the movement of people in the municipal area”, concludes Vesprini.
