«I didn’t return to Holland by chance. I still have a three-year contract and I’m having a lot of fun here. I’m happy to be close to my family, I really feel at home. Being with my loved ones again is important, especially now that I have become a father. Seeing my parents happy next to my baby is priceless. Of course, if an interesting opportunity arose, I wouldn’t close the doors: it could be an opportunity to take a step forward in my career.»
The most memorable match: Feyenoord – Lazio
According to Calvin Stengs, the most exciting match of the season was undoubtedly Feyenoord – Lazio, especially due to the team’s performance during the group stage of the Champions League. «They were under pressure throughout the match and we even managed to beat them. It was proof that we can compete at a high level. Not only in the Champions League, but as demonstrated on other occasions too, we gave in too easily.”
