Tonight, Monday 17 June, at 6.30 pm, in the Council Room of the Municipality of Piano di Sorrento, a meeting will be held with the writer Massimo Conte Schächter.
The event, organized by the Department of Culture, Tourism and Entertainment of the Municipality of Piano di Sorrento in collaboration with the Archimede Association, Ars Harmonia Mundi, CIF Centro Italiano Femminile and UNITRE, will be an opportunity to delve deeper into the theme of “divertissement linguistic” through the presentation of the book “Factoids” by Schächter.
Dialogue with the bookseller and writer Mimmo Bencivenga, the author

The meeting will be opened by greetings from the Deputy Mayor Giovanni Laccarino.

Massimo Conte Schächter is an Italian writer, translator and journalist. He has collaborated with various newspapers and magazines, including “Il Foglio”, “L’Espresso” and “La Repubblica”. He has published numerous essays and novels, including “The Game of Shadows” (2001), “The Secret Life of Books” (2005) and “The Invention of Lies” (2010).
“Factoids” is his latest book, released in 2023. It is a lucid and ironic analysis of contemporary language, in which Schächter investigates the proliferation of false and distorted news and their impact on our society.
