It would have been during this passage that something would have gone wrong and the climber would have fallen for approximately 300 meters. A fall that left him with no chance of surviving despite the prompt intervention of the Courmayeur mountain rescue team.

The intervention of the mountain rescue

Immediately after the first emergency calls to rescue the mountaineer who fell during a climb on the north face of the Great Paradise, a Valle d’Aosta mountain rescue helicopter took off and went to the scene.

Based on the indications of witnesses, the rescue team identified the point along the northern face of the mountain where the climber was attempting the climb together with a friend.
