The 33rd edition of the Ministars Trophy ended yesterday and was played on the basketball courts of
seafront of Roseto degli Abruzzi: an edition that renewed the union between seaside holidays and
basketball for many young male and female athletes from all over Italy. Let’s remember that the trophy
it has also been named for 22 years in memory of Remo Maggetti, the best player played by the Lido
some roses.
With the conclusion of the Rookies tournament, the roll of honor can be updated. The winner this time was
Virtus Padova team who beat Costone Siena in the final at the end of a match
very enjoyable and enthralling. The tournaments reserved for the Under 13s also ended in recent days,
won by Chieti Basket, and the Aquilotti one won by Bee Basket Pescara.
The awards ceremony took place yesterday at the Bellavista Arena in the presence of the Councillor
municipality Simona Di Felice, the President of FIP Abruzzo Francesco Di Girolamo, and Viola Petrini
representing the AISM of Teramo, ethical partner of the event.
The individual awards instead went to Nuova Pallacanestro Dese (Manuela fair play award
Gallicola), to Veronica Bartolozzo (Franco Sabaini solidarity prize), and to Yuri Di Vincenzo (prize
best instructor Marco Marocco).
Furthermore, this year there is a new prize: Enzo DJ’s shot, in memory of Enzo DJ Di Liberatore, historic friend of the tournament and of youth basketball in Roseto. The winner of the first edition was Sebastian Rosa
of New Dese Verde Basketball.
Saverio Di Blasio of the Roseto Minibasket School, organizer, was satisfied at the end of the event
of the Trophy: “We have won a great challenge this time too, thanks to the commitment of all the boys and girls
girls who participated in our tournaments, always putting in effort, passion and responsibility,
giving life to exciting and fair matches, in the purest sporting spirit. A week of basketball
youth possible thanks to the commitment of a great staff and that of all the team instructors
participants. And let me also thank the Municipality of Roseto degli Abruzzi, the FIP Abruzzo, the
friends of the Ada ambulances of Teramo and the AISM of Teramo, all pillars of this beautiful thing of ours
Ministars trophy. The appointment is for next year, we will try to amaze you again.”
