VICENZA – Fire in a building, all condominiums evacuated. This morning, June 16, around 11.30 the firefighters rushed to Contrà San Silvestro in Vicenza to a three-storey building. The flames broke out in the bedroom of one of the apartments on the second floor, where an elderly woman lives who was alone at the time. At first she tried to put out the fire and then she went out asking for help.
The firefighters who rushed to the scene with a fire engine, a tanker, a ladder truck, a reinforcement vehicle and nine operators put out the flames, avoiding the involvement of the entire double apartment. The bedroom was completely burned, the bathroom was damaged. Smoke damage to the entire apartment and the external facade of the condominium. Due to the collapse of the roof cones, the use of the room in the apartment above was prohibited. The use of the apartment involved in the fire is prohibited.
The causes of the fire are being investigated by firefighters. A Suem ambulance, the local police and personnel from the financial police, who have the provincial headquarters not far away, were on site for precautionary purposes. The fire brigade’s clean-up operations ended at 3pm.
