Fires and climate change are factors that the present and the new generations must deal with in an attempt to guarantee the survival and future of the island and the planet. Raising awareness is therefore an obligation, almost a duty. Raising awareness to be carried out by involving younger people and working on ideas in the form of a project that can actively involve more subjects in achieving the one great objective: sustainability and respect for the environment.
Wednesday 19 June 2024at 10 am in the spaces of the historian Baronial Palace of Sorso the final event of the project supported by the Sardinia region “Climate Change and Fire Risk – Emergency vs Prevention“, worked by the dynamic operators of CEAS Plamtamona Pond and Juniper Grove and embellished by the enthusiasm and works of the young students of theIC Sip.
Michele Meloni, Legambiente: “Let’s trigger change is not a simple design pay-off, it is a necessity based on the need to increase individual and collective awareness through knowledge of the problem. When it comes to fires, prevention is the first and most important fighting tool. On the subject of climate change, environmental education is needed: we are the ones who create the problem, it is up to us to try to contain it as much as possible“.
