Two people were injured in the fire that broke out the other evening in a pizza restaurant in Limbiate. The alarm went off just before 7.30 pm in Piazza Monteverdi, Villaggio del Sole district, which borders the Villaggio Brollo district of Solaro. The flames broke out inside the business for reasons still under investigation. A lot of smoke was immediately released which also involved the homes on the upper floors of the building. The fire required several fire brigade teams to be sent to the scene, as well as 3 ambulances and a medical car. In particular, within a few minutes the fire engine and the rescue truck arrived from Desio, the tanker from Bovisio Masciago and the ladder truck from the Monza headquarters. The fire brigade teams promptly put out the fire and carefully checked the upper floors used as homes for the presence of significant smoke in the stairwell. The people who were in the apartments had already left the building independently, taking to the safety of the street. Two people who were inside the restaurant, a 25-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman, were assessed by Areu staff on site and then both transported under yellow code to the hospitals of Desio and Saronno due to smoke inhalation. The intervention to shut down and make the premises safe lasted over two hours. The damage caused within the business is notable and will necessarily have to remain blocked at least for the time necessary to restore the conditions of habitability and safety. Firefighters and technicians are trying to reconstruct the dynamics of the fire to understand its origin.
