Caught stealing, suspected thief arrested and believed to have committed thefts and fires in the last month

Caltanissetta – In the last month he would have been responsible for car thefts and fires. But now it is for attempted theft and personal injury that he has been arrested by the police, because he was caught red-handed.

It was during a check on 8 June that a police car, right in the center of the Gelese area, noticed that two passers-by were blocking a third on the street. They were a few steps away from an open garage with the light inside turned on. A fight broke out between them. The officers immediately intervened to calm things down and, once calm was restored, they reconstructed what had happened.

At that juncture it would have emerged that the third, now arrested, had forced the entrance of that box using a crowbar in search of something to take away. When the owner of the garage and a friend surprised him, the suspected thief attacked them with the same metal bar that he was holding in his hands and which he had used to force the shutter.

Thus they managed to foil the theft attempt. Then the police arrived and stopped him.

The same officers then found out that he, the alleged thief, was held responsible for thefts and fires carried out in the last month.

So he was locked up in a cell. Then the judge for preliminary investigations in Gela validated the provision by ordering house arrest, but with the electronic bracelet to monitor any movements.
