Fires in homes averaged 2.5 per day; the number increases in the most populated municipalities e where the presence of older segments of the population is greater, particularly over the age of 60. For the exceptional wave of bad weather that hit the capital and the province in July 2023, 1,200 rescue interventions were carried out, with the use of one thousand men and 35 vehicles. For the flood of May this year, there were more than 300 interventions.

For the provincial commander of the Milan Fire Brigade, Nicola Micele«bad weather has been plaguing this area for a long time and this type of intervention constitutes an important part of our activity.
