Magenta (Milan) – Two carabinieri patrols, but also the local police. The alarm went off the other evening in the center of Magenta. To trigger it a brawl between young people. It’s nothing new. This time the protagonists turned out to be minors. Little girls to be precise. Very young people who have gone from words to deeds, complete with swearing to give even more tone to their sentences. Blasphemies shout so loudly that it can be heard throughout the city centre. Only the intervention of the military restored order between via Pusterla and via Volta, a few meters from the municipal building, a place where arguments often occur between young people, often affected by alcohol and drug abuse. A place where drug dealing takes place in broad daylight under the eyes of passers-by and the police appear helpless.
This time what is most worrying is the age of the girls. Magenta, like all cities, it is going through a difficult time with young people. Too often in the nearby connecting tunnel Piazza Liberazione to Piazza Formenti acts of vandalism are reported. A few weeks ago they even set some books on fire. And traders are raising their voices because it is not possible to continue in this way.
In Via Volta, the carabinieri and local police limited themselves to taking the details of the girls that they wanted get into fights for unknown reasons. Then, the moment the police leave, the problems return. Fortunately, none of the girls involved were injured. The local police, who have taken the girls’ details, are present in the central areas of Magenta continuously. Yet this does not seem to strike fear into the very young.
