Pontine child saved by firefighters

An accident that could have turned into a tragedy was avoided yesterday in Aprilia thanks to the timely intervention of the firefighters. A three-year-old boy was left stuck inside the family car, in via Bellini, triggering moments of great apprehension.

The Scene of the Accident

The incident occurred around midday in via Bellini, between the Toscanini district and the Primo district. The child’s mother had gotten out of the car, an old Daewoo Matiz, when the vehicle’s doors mysteriously closed, leaving the child trapped inside.

Rescue intervention

Hearing the mother’s desperate screams, the neighbors immediately alerted the emergency services. The firefighters, who arrived within minutes from the Viale Europa detachment, found the child trapped in the car under the scorching sun. An ambulance from 118 also arrived on site to provide medical assistance.

Rescue Operation

With great caution and professionalism, the firefighters began opening the car. Armed with a bar, they worked for about half an hour to open the door without causing harm to the child. By constantly talking to the little one, they reassured him until they managed to free him.

Relief and Reflections

Once freed, the child was taken care of by the 118 health workers who confirmed that he was fine. The mother, in tears, was able to hug her son safe and sound.
