On Saturday afternoon, starting at 4pm, the Circolo Acli of Pontelagoscuro hosts an event dedicated to two important anniversaries for the hamlet that goes from Ferrara towards the Po. The 70th anniversary of the delivery of the keys to the houses in the Montecatini Village, known by most as Villaggio dei Marchigiani or also called Villaggio Orsera, from the name of the real estate company controlled by Montecatini itself. AND the 67 years since the construction of the Acli Club which of that Village was, and still is, a fundamental social, recreational and cultural point of reference.

And it is precisely with the distribution of material that tells the story of the Acli Club that the event opens which will be introduced by the intervention of Giuseppe Ruzziconivice-president of the Cristalli nella Nebbia association.

At 4.30 pm the presentation of the research project ‘A community in transformation. 1954 – 2024, 70 years of the Montecatini Village in Pontelagoscuro’ created by a group of students from the University of Ferrarawithin the teaching of Cultural Anthropology and Communication of Professor Giuseppe Scandurra, and coordinated by the Cumbre Altri Frequenze collective.

Asia Sanitate, Chiara Cavazza, Elena Bregola, Martin Miraglia and Micol Piazza, these are their names, for three months they met those who now live in those houses built between 1953 and 1954 for the families of the workers who, with the closure of the Cabernardi mine, were transferred to the Petrochemical plant of Ferrara. From the Marche people of different generations to the newcomers in recent years, the people of the Village opened their doors to them, shared memories, reflected on the present and imagined the future of an area that is certainly unique at a local, but also national level. An audio documentary podcast is also being produced with the interviews conducted.

Following is the greeting from Mauro Gambaccinipresident of the Acli Club, the speech by Patrizio Bianchi on the ‘School, factory, neighborhood’ experience, and the conclusions of Paolo Pastorello, provincial president of the ACLI. The event will end with an aperitif offered to all people present.

The event is part of the ‘Frazioni per tutti’ initiatives, ‘Living Together the Po River’ projectfinanced by the Municipality of Ferrara, coordinated by the Vivere Insieme Committee and for the occasion organized by the third sector associations Circolo Acli di Pontelagoscuro and Cristalli nella Nebbia.
