The 19th edition of the “Ugo Betti Award for dramaturgy”, important competition of absolute national level organized by the municipality of Camerino with its Center for theatrical and literary studies Ugo Betti, with the patronage of the University of Camerino.
The jury unanimously awarded the prize for the work “Il numero exact” by Fabio Pisano, author from Naples. 22 authors from various parts of Italy participated in this edition (Bari, Udine, Verona, Grosseto, Catanzaro, Bologna, Foggia, Naples, Milan and even Switzerland).
The ceremony saw the opening dedicated to institutional greetings from Roberto Lucarelli, mayor of Camerino, Graziano Leoni, rector of Unicam, Antonella Nalli, councilor for Culture, and Francesco Rosati, technical-scientific director of the Ugo Betti Center for Theater and Literary Studies.
Then there was space for “Time and memory in Ugo Betti”, a report by Carla Carotenuto, professor of contemporary Italian literature at Unimc, the interpretation of Ugo Betti by Massimo Raiconi while Luca Giarritta performed music by Chopin, Liszt and Schumann.
Then the moment of the award ceremony, introduced by Marco De Marinis, president of the jury of the 19th edition of the “Ugo Betti Award for dramaturgy” composed of Lucia Chiatti, Pierfrancesco Giannangeli, Gilberto Santini, Massimo Marino, secretary Donatella Pazzelli. The jury evaluated the texts anonymously and the work continued until the first days of June and then decision to award the Prize to Fabio Pisano.
The Ugo Betti Awards for dramaturgy and Ugo Betti for young people assigned this week were approved and deliberated by the Camerino municipal council according to what was prepared by the members of the “Ugo Betti” Center for theatrical and literary studies: the technical-scientific director Francesco Rosati, Carla Carotenuto, Angela Amici, Sonia Cavirani and the secretary Donatella Crazy people.
