A 30-year-old Albanian man is awaiting extraction after being intercepted by the Albanian police and is under investigation for aggravated acts of persecution, aggravated fire in competition, multiple injuries to the detriment of his compatriot’s ex-partner and her new partner. The Rimini investigating judge had issued a precautionary custody order in prison for the 30-year-old, for events that occurred in Rimini between June and July 2023. The investigation, conducted by the Rimini Flying Squad, made it possible to reconstruct the multiple actions of a persecution, insults, defamation, harassment and serious threats carried out by the man, culminating on 24 July 2023 in a violent attack against the couple, during which the man and the woman were beaten by four misrepresented men, who , after having savagely beaten them, they had doused them with petrol with the clear aim of setting them on fire, an event which did not occur only thanks to the providential intervention of some neighbors who managed to scare away the attackers. Shortly before, the woman’s car had also been set on fire. The man had also planned to start a family feud to force his ex-girlfriend to return together to their country of origin to “peacefully” end the affair by purchasing also a plane ticket in her name. Despite the speed of the investigative activity coordinated by the Rimini Prosecutor’s Office, which made it possible to issue a precautionary measure against him, the man immediately left Albania, where a few days ago he was arrested pending extradition.
