The polling station doors opened yesterday at 3pm and will close today at 11pm (opening at 7am). There are more than 288,300 eligible Florentines and they are called to choose the mayor and new city council (blue card), the presidents of the five districts (green card) and the European parliament (fuchsia card). Here’s a review of the rules. As regards the vote for the municipal elections, if no mayoral candidate reaches 50% + 1 of the votes in the first round, a run-off will be held. The possible date is set for Sunday 23 June, from 7am to 11pm and Monday 24 June, from 7am to 3pm).

How to vote. Three options. You can vote by making an X only for a mayoral candidate indicated in one of the boxes (in this case the vote does not extend to the lists connected to it). The split vote
For voters there is the possibility of giving the so-called ‘disjoint’ vote: that is, it is possible to vote for a mayoral candidate and for a list not connected to him. In this last case, to indicate the preference of a candidate for the city council it is necessary to write the full surname (or the name and surname) next to the list. Up to 2 preferences can be expressed (with male/female gender alternation). Be careful: in this last case described it is not necessary to cross the cross on the list (but by crossing it the vote still remains absolutely valid) because consent will automatically go to it.
When the vote
is considered null and void
