Farmaè Viareggio Under 20 is out of the championship race. After having won the tricolor for 3 years in a row, the young Bianconeri are arithmetically eliminated thanks to the defeat against Lazio (5-2) in the penultimate day of group A at the “Matteo Valenti” beach stadium. In fact, even a possible recovery success against Cagliari would not be enough to access the Final Four. Precisely against the Sardinians, tomorrow at 6pm, VBS will try to win the Italian Super Cup (live streaming on the Youtube channel of the National Amateur League).

After a back and forth with outsized conclusions (Santini for the Bianconeri, Giusti for the Biancocelesti), Lazio hit the crossbar in the 2nd minute with a violent strike from D’Agostino. The 1-0 goal was scored a minute later, with Shalabi making a free throw from a tight angle, past Moretti at the near post. VBS would have immediately had the opportunity to equalize, but Ricci’s strike following the conceded goal was blocked off the line, then Santini headed over. Moretti manages to avoid doubling the Biancocelesti’s lead with two interventions in the same action (in the 6th minute) but not on Andriani’s close-range right-footed shot in the 10th minute (on the development of a corner). At the start of the second half Moretti saves on Shalabi. In the 10th minute another great chance for Lazio, wasted by Sannibale, who sends the ball out one-on-one with Moretti. VBS also had a huge opportunity to score in the 12th minute, but Santucci raised his aim too high. Close to the end of the half, the Biancocelesti went further with D’Agostino’s left-footed shot. A handful of seconds later he gets a free throw due to a direct red foul by Del Mancino: Lazio’s number 11, however, finds himself opposed by Moretti.
The Juventus goalkeeper stands out again in the initial part of the third half with two close exits. VBS attacks in search of a goal that would revive their hopes of a comeback, but the attempts of Santini, Lombardi and Belluomini prove fruitless. In closing, again on a free throw, Shalabi scores the 4-1, condemning the home team to defeat and elimination from the championship race. Lombardi’s recovery goal on a free throw was useless, followed by that of the final 5-2 scored by Giusti.
