War in Gaza: Israel releases four hostages in the Strip

The Israeli army announced that it had freed four hostages captured by Hamas during the terrorist attack on 7 October 2023. So far, seven hostages have been rescued and still alive from the Strip.

Four hostages kidnapped during the attack carried out by Hamas on October 7 in Israel have been freed. The Israeli army made this known.

The freed hostages are Noa Argamani, 25 years old, Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrey Kozlov (27) and Shlomi Ziv (40). The operation was conducted at two different locations in Nuseirat.

Hamas kidnapped around 250 hostages during its attack on October 7. About half were released in a week-long ceasefire in November. According to Israel, there are more than 130 hostages still in the hands of the Islamic movement. Saturday’s operation is the largest recovery of live hostages since the outbreak of the war, bringing the total number of prisoners rescued to seven. Last May 17, the bodies of three Israelis who died in Gaza were recovered.

Netanyahu: “Israel does not surrender to terrorism”

The Israeli government then released a statement after Prime Minister Netanyahu had a telephone conversation with Noa Argamani. Netanyahu reiterated that “Israel does not surrender to terrorism and that Israeli forces act with a creativity and audacity that knows no bounds to bring the hostages home.” The prime minister then promised that the fighting would continue until everyone was freed.

Hamas: “Over two hundred dead due to the operation in Nurseirat”

The Islamic group commented on the release of the hostages, making it known that the Israeli forces they killed 210 Palestinians to free the four prisoners. There are reportedly over 400 injured, many of whom were taken to al-Awda hospital and Al-Aqsa martyrs’ hospital in Deir el-Balah.
