LIGNANO/GRADO – A drain. With an increase in costs, in some areas overlooking the sea of the summer tourist resorts of the region and in Bibione, the traditional beach of the Pordenone people, which reaches up to 10 percent compared to last year. We’re talking about prices of umbrellas and deckchairs on the beach, essential accessories for those who want to relax for a day in Lignano or Grado. Certain, costs decrease if you book the place for a week and they drop even more if the holiday days become 15. In reality the majority of attendance is still linked to commuting one day, a situation which becomes the most expensive.
THE BILLS
The Fvg Citizen Defense Movement Observatory, chaired by Raimondo Gabriele Englaro, monitored the prices of the 2024 season and compared them with the previous one. Well, in Lignano an umbrella with two deckchairs in the front rowtherefore facing the sea, in full season it costs 33 eurossame figure in Grado, while Bibione is the cheapest and the cost stops at an average of around 26 euros. We are talking about the high season period, from July 1st to August 31st, the months which are obviously considered the best for those who want to be in the sun. Prices drop, however, in the low season, because always in the front row in Lignano, umbrellas and deckchairs cost 26 euros, they plummet in Grado to 18 euros, while in Bibione, they are more or less the same as those in the high season, given which are already lower.
THE INCREASES
According to the Fvg Movement for the Defense of the Citizen from 2020 to 2023, the increases, despite the skyrocketing inflation, reached a maximum of 8.5 percent on the regional beaches. Not a little, but still a small percentage compared to the rest. Instead, again in proportion, for the 2024 season, the one we are preparing to support, the price increases ranged from one to 5 percent, with peaks of even 10 for some structures. «The crystallization of this sector for decades – explains President Englaro – has led the prices of bathing establishments to constant increases, as demonstrated by our field investigations of all these years in which an average increase from 1.75% to 4% has emerged. % (umbrella, sunbed and deckchair), not attributable to inflation alone, but above all to the significant price gap between the beaches of Lignano Sabbiadoro, Riviera and Pineta with differences from 20 to 48 percent”. Precisely the difference in costs between these three locations led to different increases on prices that were already basically variable from one site to another.
THE DISPARITY
«In light of the data collected on the prices of equipment rental on the beach – continues the president of the Movement -, an unjustified disparity emerges between the beaches of Sabbiadoro and those of Pineta and Riviera. It is unacceptable that in a de facto monopolistic regime, masked by acquired rights, with identical services, there are differences of up to 30% with a clear penalization of all activities strictly linked to the use of the service. At present Pineta and Rivera are also suffering more due to the prices dictated by Lignano Pineta Spa and Sil which – in our opinion – have undergone unjustified increases with tariffs that are too high”.
FREE BEACH
The head of the Environment and Territory sector of the Movement, Silvio Reginato, also wanted to point out that “in Pineta and Riviera, almost half of the beaches, a portion of free beach is absent”. “A lack – he continued – which greatly penalizes staying users because from the customer’s point of view it is not possible to live many kilometers away from the access, because, for example, it was discovered upon arrival”. The fact remains that if you add petrol to get there, paid parking and something to drink, you get to 89-90 euros which almost doubles if you also go for lunch. For a sunny day.
