Inflation is back, a 140 euro ‘tax’

CREMONA – Inflation is starting again. If there was a first sign in April, confirmation came with the May data, and we know that two clues prove it. As in April, May also saw a modest inflationary recovery. The increase, as clarified by the National Consumer Union, was 0.5% compared to May 2023 prices.

It should be remembered that the trend change means the percentage of prices compared to the same month of the previous year, while the cyclical change is the comparison with those of the previous month. And the increase in expenses for Cremonese families currently stands at 140 euros on an annual basis. In the first two, May inflation was +0.3%, while in the city of Leonessa the rate remained practically unchanged (0.1). However, air transport costs decreased (-10.7%).
