Audi has renewed the A3 range, which now includes the Sportback and Limousine body styles.
With a more distinctive, sporty appearance and a more comfortable, digitalised interior, the refreshed Audi A3 range arrives with enhanced standard equipment, more technology and a price starting from €33,689.
All versions feature a restyled front end, with a hexagonal, frameless Singleframe grille that is flatter and wider, along with generous, angular side air intakes, reinforcing the sporty character of the compact models.
Inspired by the RS versions, the new design elements become even more expressive when combined with the S line exterior. The metallic colors District Green and Progressive Red are new, as is the optional matt Daytona Grey.
The front spoiler connects the two air intakes and makes the revamped Audi A3 appear lower. At the rear, a new bumper and diffuser inspired by the RS models stand out.
Inside there are many new features, from the design of the gear lever and air vents to the decorative fabric applications and the new interior lighting.
The standard equipment has been significantly expanded. In addition to the three-spoke leather multifunction steering wheel, standard equipment also includes air conditioning, ambient lighting package, front center armrest, 10.1″ infotainment screen, as well as the Audi virtual cockpit and a charger inductive for smartphones. In addition to the two USB-C charging ports in the front center console, there are also two additional ports at the rear.
The interior trim of the refreshed Audi A3 now features two decorative options in fabric made from 100% recycled polyester and Dinamica microfibre that serves as a seat cover: it has the look and feel of suede, but is partially made with recycled polyester.
For the first time in the A3 range, it is now possible to select and switch between four different digital light signatures via the MMI, when paired with the optional Matrix LED headlights.
Options include MMI navigation plus and access to the application store. By integrating the store, users can directly and intuitively access applications via the MMI touch screen. The applications are installed in the infotainment system without the need to use the smartphone. Users can also interact with their applications via voice control. Amazon Alexa can be used to play music and also operate smart home devices.
In terms of engines, the 30 TFSI version is only available in the Sportback body style and features the 1.5 turbo petrol engine with 116 HP and 220 Nm of torque with mild hybrid technology, when combined with the S tronic dual clutch automatic transmission.
The Diesel offer is made up of the 30 TDI (116 HP) and 35 TDI (150 HP) versions, with the Limousine bodywork having only the most powerful variant. Unlike the previous generation, it will only be possible to combine the S tronic automatic transmission with the Diesel engines for the 35 TDI versions. The other petrol and diesel versions of the A3 Sportback and A3 Limousine will arrive later.
With the 2.0 TFSI engine producing 333 HP, and a maximum torque of 420 Nm and quattro all-wheel drive system, the sportier S3 version is available in both body styles. Compared to the previous generation model, the new S3 has 23 HP and 20 Nm more, data that allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 250 km/h.
