He stole the necklace with two pendants of particular sentimental value from a disabled young man and sold it to a ‘gold buyer’ but was identified and arrested by the men of the La Spezia flying squad in execution of a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge De Bellis.

The boy, 23 years old, took advantage of his peer’s disability and with an excuse managed to take off his gold necklace. The investigations immediately launched by the Flying Squad, also through the viewing of municipal and private cameras, made it possible to crystallize the reported crime, establishing that the perpetrator could be identified as the person indicated by the victim, already known to the police. The investigations at the city’s “gold buyers” made it possible to recover the jewel that the suspect had sold immediately after the commission of the crime for just under 500 euros. Hence the disputed self-laundering conduct. The recovered necklace and pendants were returned to the victim.

In the following days, the reported boy further harassed his victim as an act of retaliation for having reported him. Given the seriousness of the conduct, the judicial authority issued a restraining order against the twenty-three-year-old, which was carried out yesterday afternoon. The boy is charged with the crimes of aggravated theft, self-laundering and private violence.
