Normally the deadline to apply is November 30th of each year, but it can vary from Municipality to Municipality. The nomination then arrives between 20 and 25 days before the election. The seat presidents are appointed by the president of the competent Court of Appeal, choosing from among the people registered in specific registers. Those who are chosen can renounce only for justified reasons and this applies to all seat members. The president of the polling station then chooses a vice president who gets the same attendance fee as the scrutineers but can replace the president if necessary. The polling station secretary, who assists the president in all operations, is also chosen by the president himself before the polling station is set up.
