Tragedy in Portugal. A display by the Portuguese Air Force’s aerobatic flight team ended with the tragic collision between two planes. One pilot died and at least one other was injured. The accident occurred this afternoon in the city of Beja, during the Beja air show aerobatic flying festival.
According to Portuguese state TV (RTP), one plane crashed and two had to make an emergency landing. The festival was interrupted and the Beja airbase evacuated. On its X profile, the Portuguesa Air Force asked not to spread images of the accident “out of respect for the people involved”.
