The new brake on the merger of Sardinian airports.

The Sardinia Regionwith a letter sent to the presidency of the Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari-Oristano, signed by the governor Alessandra Toddehas announced its intention to become part of the holding company managing the Sardinian airport system. The news emerged this morning, on the sidelines of the meeting for the signing of the protocol between the Chamber of Commerce and the State PoliceThe modalities and timing for public participation in the holding are not yet known, but it should be defined by the end of the year.

The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari and Oristano, Maurizio DePascaleresponded to the merger process of the three Sardinian airports of Cagliari, Olbia and Alghero, under a single holding with F2i, declaring that the Region has formally invited the Chamber of Commerce to participate in the operation.

De Pascale explained that the Chamber of Commerce welcomed the project positively and fully shared the regional initiative to create a unified airport network. He added that, based on this sharing, they have decided to temporarily suspend operations to close the integration project of the three airports. This will allow the Region to further investigate the details and establish the necessary agreements for the participation of the Region itself with shareholdings, such as expressly requested.
