The long-awaited fight between Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, scheduled for July 20 in Texas, has been postponed due to a recent attack of ulcers that hit the former world champion: this was announced by his press service and Netflix, as reported by the international media.
Most Valuable Promotions, which will stage the event at AT&T Stadium in Arlington along with Netflix, said a new date for the fight will be announced on June 7.
“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to the ulcer flare-up, my doctor advised me to lighten up my training for a few weeks to rest and recover “Tyson said in a statement.
“My body is as fit as it’s been since the ’90s and I’ll be back to full training soon,” he added. “Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but you’re still going to get knocked out in the end.” and out of boxing forever. I appreciate everyone’s patience and look forward to delivering an unforgettable performance throughout the year.”
Last Tuesday, Tyson felt ill while traveling by plane from Miami to Los Angeles and after landing he required medical attention due to an attack of ulcer which caused him to feel dizzy and nauseated.
