“Montepulciano vs CyberBullism”: public meeting promoted by Canvas hub

Students from Montepulciano institutes will talk to experts in the sector. Presentation of the Do-zine rebel fanzine

(UNWEB) MONTEPULCIANO 31 May 2024 – The results of two projects: “Montepulciano vs CyberBullismo” and the creation of the fanzine “Do-zine rebels”. The work involved many young people, including students from high schools in Montepulciano (A. Poliziano state higher education institute and IIS Valdichiana – ITE Francesco Redi and IP Giovanni Caselli headquarters).
The program sees, in the first part, a discussion also open to the public on “Cyberbullying, (ex) Revenge Porn, Bodyshaming”. Participating in the meeting as experts will be: Valeria Fonte, master’s doctor in Italian studies, content creator/feminist disseminator and author, in 2022, of the book “It kills more la lingua” on gender violence in which her academic skills are used to dismantle the hatred of words; Lyre Scialpi whose sketches and stories, on TikTok, aim to raise awareness of social issues with the help of irony and black humor; Lucrezia Marino, psychologist, psychotherapist and sexologist; Marta Pietrelli and Marianna Martini, of the Digital World Foundation, committed to educating young people in the conscious use of the internet, especially in combating bullying and cyberbullying.
In the second part of the meeting, at 4.30 pm, presentation of the fanzine created by boys and girls, aged 15 to 25, during the independent publishing project “Do-zine Ribelli”, with the aim of informing and collecting testimonies on the themes of gender, body and inclusion. The visual artist Luchadora, who created the initiative’s poster, will intervene with a workshop on the development of a live poster on self-determination between feminism, gender and the body.

The Vazine group, feminist collectivemade up of women from the Montepulciano area and surrounding areas who came together to reflect, discuss and share their ideas, thoughts and concerns. Among the initiatives that the group is carrying out, the publication of the fanzine VaZine, the reading group in collaboration with the Montepulciano library, in-depth initiatives on women’s issues, projects in collaboration with other local associations.
