Red flag: three drivers involved but without damage, stop for Sainz
Published on: 05/26/2024 – 3.59pm
The Monaco Grand Prix was stopped with a red flag on the first lap due to a scary accident involving Sergio Perez’s Red Bull and the two Haas cars at the rear, which were partially destroyed in the crash. The pilots appear unharmed. Immediately after the start, Carlos Sainz in the Ferrari was forced to stop due to a tire problem, while Charles Leclerc, who started from pole, took the lead.
Sainz will restart from third place after the red flag for the Red Bull-Haas incident. Sigh of relief for the Spanish rider who had a puncture after a contact. Meanwhile, there will be no further investigations into the serious accident, Magnussen’s responsibility in the crash with Perez and Hulk now appears to be established.
