Shocking receipt in the centre, 8 euros for a Moroccan coffee

A receipt posted on Facebook for a table drink in a restaurant in the center of Genoa began to make the rounds on social media: eight euros for a ‘morocco’ (coffee, frothed milk and cocoa), seven to be precise, plus an extra of one for the variation on decaffeinated. In a couple of hours there are already around forty shares on the original post, plus dozens in the city’s Facebook groups, on ‘Genova la SUPERBA’ there are already almost 400 comments among the indignant and those who write instead that the prices are exposed and the market is free.

For the author of the post it must have been a bad surprise, perhaps also caused by not having been informed about the prices of the place and the reviews written by customers on dedicated portals or on the most well-known search engine. A similar episode also occurred in April, a receipt for 27 euros for three ice creams which created another uproar on social media.

“A coffee at the table in Genoa… – the comment accompanying the post -. Getting torpedoed in “my” city”. But there are many reviews of this type: “Two cappuccinos, a hot milk, a Moroccan, four sweets total 47.50 euros” writes a customer, another adds: “Two granitas at the table twenty euros” while a third comments bitterly: “We are not in Capri or Portofino, 5.50 euros for an iced tea at the counter”.

Obviously we are not carrying out the trial on the prices of the venue, displayed as the law requires. The lesson that can be learned is always the same: before ordering it is always best to find out about the prices and possibly leave the place if you don’t like it. Another suggestion would be to always read the reviews of other customers.
