(From www.lnd.it) – Il Campobasso he wins Serie D Scudetto 2023/2024 beating the Trapani For 5-1 in the final played this afternoon at the Comunale “Zecchini” in Grosseto. A clear victory for Mr. Piccirilli’s boys who turned almost every ball they touched into gold in the first half: four goals and two posts in the six opportunities created in the opening 45′, with the Romero-Di Nardo offensive duo in a state of grace. The match was split in the three minutes between the 8th and 11th minutes by a brace from the attacker who arrived from Lucchese in January, then again by Rasi and Di Nardo before the only goal scored by the Granata with a penalty converted in the 31st minute by Kragl for Esposito’s foul on Balla. In the second half the theme doesn’t change much: Torrisi’s team stops at the post hit by Kragl after just 50 seconds, then the rossoblù dominate again and they find the 5-1 in the 22nd minute with a brace from Di Nardo. In the final seconds of the match only the post denied the number 9 the joy of a hat-trick.
During the interval of the match the Coordinator of the Interregional Department of the LND Luigi Barbiero drew up a balance of the season: «We are very satisfied with the quality expressed by the championship clubs, with a post season that proved to be truly exciting. Congratulations to Campobasso and Trapani for reaching the final and for promotion to Serie C, an appreciation obviously extended to the other seven promoted teams. Best wishes for the next adventure among professionals.” After thanking US Grosseto and its Patron Giovanni Lamioni for their hospitality, Barbiero underlined another important aspect: «Once again Serie D focused on young people and won, thanks to the foresight of the clubs we support in this virtuous path to give a sustainable and long-lasting future to the category.”
At the time of awards the same Coordinator of the Interregional Department handed over the cup which is worth the championship to the captain of Campobasso Manuel Gonzalez. The Department Councilors Maria Teresa Montaguti, Massimo Caldaroni, Pietro Bertapelle, Sergio Gardellini, Giuseppe Dello Iacono and Giuseppe Pandolfini presented the medals to the players of both teams. Recognition also for the referee team honored by Barbiero together with the Head of CAND D Alessandro Pizzi and the Head of CON Dilettanti Luca Gaggero.
THE MATCH – Campobasso was close to breaking the deadlock in the 3rd minute: Di Nardo sent in a dangerous ball from the right, upon the rebound from the Granata defense Parisi unleashed a powerful left-footed shot, only the post graced a motionless Ujkaj. It is only the prelude to the advantage of the champions of Group F of the championship which materializes in the 8th minute: cross into the area by Parisi and spectacular volley by Romero into the corner. All the dangers for Torrisi’s team come from the outside, this is the recurring theme that leads to the Molise team’s second goal in the 11th minute: Di Nardo’s heel frees Rasi, a tense first-time cross and Romero’s winning shot again. Total domination by the rossoblù who in the 17th minute went further with Rasi: Di Nardo stole the ball in mid-field and immediately triggered Lombari who centralized and opened for the winger who arrived in the summer from Roma City, control and diagonal placed in the corner. In the 48th minute there was still time for one last shout from Campobasso who hit the third post of the match with Di Nardo.
