Another special day forIsabella Morra Institute of Matera which wins the first prize in this category of the Amabili Confini Competitiona project for the social regeneration of the suburbs, with a beautiful story “The irresistible scent of a memory” written by Aurora Mastrosabato, attending class 3B SASS.

The Headmaster Caterina Policaro declares:

“I am truly proud and happy to be able to say that our institute participated in an important way, with various classes of the “Health and social assistance services” address, in the literary competition by sending 19 stories of different genres and 6 poems .

In terms of number of works sent, we are the second school among those participating. It’s not a little!

All the compositions written by the students, at the end of the review, will also be published in the Amabili Confini anthology.

The recognition obtained is certainly a source of pride and great satisfaction for our school.

Among the tasks of a school principal there is also the pleasant one of always encouraging teachers to find the “talents” we have in our classes and to “dare” to participate in activities such as a literary competition, in which the ability to express oneself and telling, in addition to being good for the writer from a skills point of view, gives a lot of self-esteem to girls and boys.

For the narrative section, romance genre, in addition to the winner of the competition Aurora Mastrosabato, the students Mary Carlucci and Giulia Vetere of 3B SSAS, with the stories “A love destined to live forever” and “The strength of love” and Giorgia Mansueto of 3C SSAS with the story “The first love”.

Already in the first meeting dedicated to the Poetry section, IIS Morra had participated and obtained appreciation and recognition with the 6 poems written by Michela Montemurro, Giulia Martino, Alessia Vizziello of the 5A SAS; Aurora Bologna, Nicole Lupo of 5B SAS; Charlotte Losignore of the 4A SAS.

We were also awarded by Amabili Confini for the poem “Forget me” by Alessia Vizziello and the poem “The song of forgotten things” by Giulia Martino.

Also, we had a special mention for “Dimenticami” by Alessia Vizziello which also won the “Una postcard from Matera” award from the 1995 Matera Poetry Association.

In the previous appointment, recognition was also given for the pairing of the text with the neighborhood for the story “Lo Specchio” by Aurora Iacovone of 3C SAS. I thank teachers Scaraia and Mongiello for believing in this project.”
