The 2024 Compasso d’oro goes to Sanlorenzo’s SP 110

Sanlorenzo’s SP110 receives the Compasso d’Oro 2024. The world design award established by Gio Ponti in 1954, which every year celebrates virtuous projects that combine quality, innovation and cultural impact, was awarded to the open coupé of the group led by Massimo Perotti at the ADI Design Museum in Milan as part of the XXVIII edition of the design Oscar award ceremony, which not only highlights the most widespread or beautiful objects, but those that best represent the idea of made in Italy design and which in seventy years of history has seen just over 370 awards awarded.

Launched in 2022, the SP110 was created by Bernardo Zuccon for the exterior design, Tilli Antonelli for the product development, Marco Arnaboldi for the hull and Piero Lissoni for the interiors.

The first of the “Smart Performance” range, the SP110 – we read in the shipyard’s note – “offers high performance with maximum energy efficiency thanks to the use of fractional propulsion, made up of three engines. Furthermore, the energy recovery system includes high-efficiency solar panels and lithium batteries, which allow hotel functions to be powered without the use of generators.” The reasons for the Compasso d’Oro speak of a model that represents more than a simple boat as it “interprets the idea of a floating house through new proportions, a new relationship between transparent and blind surfaces, new living solutions. A boat that renews the production process in a strategic sector, through careful research into factors of construction and use sustainability”.

From June 20 to September 15, 2024, the SP110 model will be on display at the ADI Design Museum.
