Agriculture in Romagna one year after the flood • newsrimini.it

One year after the flood in Romagna, we wanted to dedicate the first episode of the new television season of “Agrinet the future in the field” to some farmers who tell us their story and how they recovered after those dramatic events.

The program explores agriculture with a careful look at its excellence, the environmental context and the agri-food sector, traveling throughout Italy to meet innovative farmers who face contemporary challenges with a focus on environmental and ecological aspects for the protection and development of the territory. An exciting journey to discover the agricultural practices of the future and the people who make them possible.

The format, lasting 25 minutes each, involves alternating between reporting from the fields and the dissemination of more strictly scientific aspects oriented towards sustainability, linked above all to the 10 key OBJECTIVES of the Community agricultural policy.

The program, hosted by Francesca Magnoni, is produced and created by the Icaro group in collaboration with TV2000, the association of local Corallo TV stations, and is co-financed by European Commission; for the technical-scientific part the partners are theIUAV University of VeniceDepartment of Project Cultures – and the National Association Confagricoltura.

Off we go Tuesday 28 May on ICARO TV (for Emilia Romagna channel 18) at 8.35pm and Saturday 1 June on TV2000 at 5.30pm with the first stage from Romagna with the bet “Climate change: the flood one year later”. Cameras focused on the young people from Faenza Alessandro Bacchilega and Martina Farolfi, who suffered damage due to the flooding of the river Lamone and who for days were unable to enter the field to take care of the kiwi and olive plants; then we move to Cesena, near the river Wisewhere a still emotional Gianluca Zoffoli, in addition to showing the serious damage irremediably caused to his kiwi harvest, talks about the gestures of solidarity that supported his slow recovery.

For Romagna, fruit is one of the most important productions in the area and climate changes are putting farmers to the test, so much so that they have to make drastic decisions for the future as well. In the television episode there is also space for expertsthe meteorologist and climatologist Pierluigi Randi and Federica Rossihead of the Precision Agriculture and Agroenvironment Division of the Ri.Nova research company, who explain how to deal with these extreme climatic events in order to reduce their dangerous damage.

Each episode ends with the column THE CAP SEEN BY CHILDRENcurated by various regional broadcasters of the CORALLO TV circuit, who collaborate on the project, bringing sustainability issues to Italian primary schools and dialogue with the little ones.

The program will air on ICARO TV – channel 18 for Emilia-Romagna, from May 28th to July 30thevery Tuesday at 8.35pm and repeats on Wednesdays at 1.30pm and above TV2000 – channel 28, from 1st June to 3rd August, every Saturday at 5.30pm.
