Fedez in Rome, and it is not the last destination chosen for his travels as a single. Accompanied by his ever-present assistant Eleonora Sesana, the rapper had to reach the capital for an appointment in court. He himself explained it in his Instagram stories: “One day in the magistrate’s court, protect me”, he writes on a photo in which he shows the middle finger, and then adds “Rome direction for yet another useless trial against that useless association”. The reference is to Codacons: the singer’s deposition is scheduled for today, Monday 6 May, before the preliminary hearing judge who will have to decide whether or not to send him to trial after the complaint for slander presented by the consumer association.
Fedez-Codacons
Judging from the stories published on Instagram, Fedez seems eager to provide his version of events before the judge, and jokes about it together with his assistant. «What are we doing today, teacher?», she says, quoting a famous children’s cartoon, «what we do every evening, Mignolo: try not to be condemned by Codacons», he replies, paraphrasing the cult phrase. And again, she involves a hotel employee by asking him who is right in the dispute, and then publishes a mirror selfie in which she writes: “The president of Codacons is jealous of my abs.” The dig at Carlo Rienzi was useful.
The process
Codacons reported Fedez for slander regarding an issue that dates back to 2020. According to the rapper, the consumer association during the pandemic emergency published a misleading banner on its website relating to a fundraiser. He also explained it during an episode of Muskio Selvaggio: «These people did something during the pandemic. A banner saying ‘Donate for Coronavirus’. At Codacons. Obviously, something like this suggests that if you donate the money to them, they would have done something concrete about the coronavirus. We agree, right? This is peaceful. In reality, you donated the money to them and Codacons doesn’t deal with healthcare. I said that at least it’s murky.” So Fedez filed a complaint, but the charges were dismissed and Codacons counter-reported him for slander.
