Police and comprehensive Bastia 1 – The State Police continues to make progress in its educational campaign, recently involving the students of the “Colomba Antonietti” secondary school in Bastia Umbra (PG). This meeting, strongly supported by the Headmaster, Dr. Prof. Stefania Finauro, and the representative for cyberbullying, Prof. Fernanda Lavecchia, saw the participation of 60 students and 6 teachers from lower secondary school classes.

The event, which took place in the premises of Via Manzoni, began with the greetings of the school director who expressed her gratitude to the staff of the Umbria Cyber ​​Security Operations Center for the initiative, which aims to bring young people together to institutions.

The experts of the Specialty have provided a series of indications on how to behave safely online, in order to prevent the phenomenon of cyberbullying. They highlighted the importance of using words correctly within social networks.

They paid particular attention to the phenomena of hate speech, the so-called “hate speech”, which finds its natural habitat on the web and social platforms. They also discussed online solicitation by strangers and the dissemination of private images without the consent of the people depicted.

From the enthusiasm of the interventions and the number of questions posed to the State Police trainers, it clearly emerged that the indications provided aroused great interest among the students, who were able to see their “virtual life” from a different perspective.
