The Carabinieri of Naples have seized a load of counterfeit oil. Almost 900 liters of oil were found in green tin containers. The load was in the bed of the small van she was driving: a total of almost 900 liters of olive oil. This is a well-known scam in Naples. The liquid passed off as extra virgin olive oil is actually the result of mixing sunflower seed oil with coloring substances, such as chlorophyll and beta-carotene. The mixture thus obtained is packaged in cans and bottles on which counterfeit labels of well-known brands in the sector are then affixed.
