Nexen Tire won the Red Dot Design in the ‘product design’ category with the N’Fera Sport S UHP tire.

The award-winning N’Fera Sport S is an ultra-high performance tire developed for dynamic driving at high speeds and with exceptional durability. The handling and braking performance, especially on wet roads, complete the characteristics of the summer tire for sedans, vans and sports cars.
Nexen Tire tires are subjected to regular quality checks and are constantly being developed. For N’Fera Sport S, the design was initially optimized to balance performance on dry and wet roads with thick 3+1 vertical grooves, to prevent aquaplaning and maximize grip. Additionally, the rigidity of the outer shoulder, where load and grip are concentrated, has been strengthened for agile handling, and the large center block has been used to improve steering at high speeds. Nexen Tire has also incorporated a directional groove bevel to prevent excessive wear and improve wet performance. Left and right profiles improve consistent braking performance and high-speed handling. This result was demonstrated in rigorous tests carried out on the Nürburgring, a notoriously demanding circuit. Additionally, “HN Replacement” branding has been added to the side of the tire, indicating that Nexen Tire is the only Korean tire company to have received replacement tire technology certification exclusively for the Hyundai N brand.
The Red Dot Design Award is one of the largest design competitions in the world and has been organized by the Design Center Westfalen in Nordheim since 1995. Together with the IDEA Design Award in the USA and the iF Design Award in Germany, it is one of the three most important design awards worldwide.
