Serious accident in Bonifati where a man suffered serious injuries to his limbs caused by a motor hoe with which he was working the soil

BONIFATI (COSENZA) – Serious accident for an elderly man engaged in country work. The blades of a motor hoe caused serious injuries to the lower limbs of an 86-year-old man. It happened yesterday afternoon at Bonifati. The 86-year-old man, SSG, was working on agricultural land he owned in the Old Town area.

For reasons currently under investigation, one of the limbs ended up between the blades of the motor hoe. The man fell to the ground and, from what we learned, he was also injured in the other leg. He may have caught his trousers between the blades of the agricultural tool. The fabric would have held the limb causing serious injuries to the 86-year-old’s legs. The call for help was immediate. The particular conditions of the accident, however, required the intervention of the firefighters in Bonifati who had to carry out activities on the motor hoe in order to transport the injured person to hospital.

In the meantime, the air ambulance was also called. The police from the local station arrived at the scene of the accident. With great difficulty the elderly man was put in a position to be transported and the air ambulance immediately reached the Annunziata hospital in Cosenza where SSG is currently hospitalized in very serious conditions.
