The illustrator and painter Simone Bianchi, master of contemporary comic artreceived today (6 April) in Rome the Golden Romics and to reward him next to him on the stage was his brotherly friend Emanuele Vietina, director of Lucca Comics & Games.
The Roman event rewarded the artist from Lucca with this motivation: “In the contemporary global panorama, Simone Bianchi is among the greatest interpreters of the most famous superheroes who have marked the collective imagination of entire generations. Superman and Batman, Iron Man and Spider-Man, Thor and Captain America, as well as Wolverine, the X-Men, whose costume line he redesigned for Marvel, just to name a small part of them, have all passed through Bianchi’s fervent inventive streak. All of his works are characterized by a distinctive pictorial trait that makes them unique and recognisable”.
The artist from Lucca has long been recognized as a master of the “ninth art” and his works have been exhibited in numerous museums, including the very recent solo show at Villa Mimbelli in Livornoheld in conjunction with the latest edition of Lucca Comics & Games.
“It was personally an honor to be invited to Rome to present this recognition to Simone Bianchi’s career – comments Emanuele Vietina – and it was extraordinary to be able to talk about the artist and above all the man, his education and the friendship that binds us, highlighting his great talents to make them known also to the general public of Rome”.
