The official Nerazzurri website today reported three curiosities about the match between Napoli and Atalanta. Here they are below:
Who made their debut in the first leg?
Giovanni Bonfanti, a defender born in 2003 who grew up in the Nerazzurri youth system, made his debut in the first team and in Serie A, taking over from Kolašinac in the 76th minute of Atalanta-Napoli, after having previously played nine matches with the Nerazzurri Under 23s in the Serie championship C. Leonardo Mendicino, midfielder born in 2006, made his Serie A debut in Atalanta-Lazio last February, while he had already made his debut with the Nerazzurri first team in Rakow-Atalanta; the same match in which Tommaso Del Lungo, a defender born in 2003, made his debut with the Nerazzurri first team.
When was the last season in which Atalanta faced Napoli with a different coach than in the first leg?
Francesco Calzona currently sits on the Neapolitan bench, having replaced Walter Mazzarri last February. Atalanta therefore faces a Napoli who have a different coach compared to the first leg; the last season in which it happened was 2019/2020 in which, in the first leg (2-2 in the then San Paolo, goals from Freuler and Iličić) Carlo Ancelotti sat on the blue bench, while in the return match the the Neapolitans’ coach was Gennaro Gattuso (2-0 at the Gewiss Stadium, goals from Pašalić and Gosens).

False. Atalanta and Napoli have already met on matchday 30, albeit on only one occasion. We need to go back to 1972, the location of the match was the Bergamo stadium: the Nerazzurri, in eleventh place in the table, host Napoli, eighth. An excellent Atalanta directed the outcome of the match right from the start: in the 8th minute they took the lead thanks to a free kick from Ottavio Bianchi with their third goal of the season and in the 10th minute Sergio Magistrelli doubled the lead. Magistrelli again closes the score at the start of the second half with an assist from Sacco, precisely in the 50th minute; two turns of the clock pass and José Altafini converts a penalty for the Neapolitans, but the result does not change further. The final result is 3-1 in favor of the Bergamo team, who thus overtake Bologna in the standings.
