The South Tyrolean, n.2 in the ranking and seeded n.1, in the Italian derby with Lorenzo Sonego, prevailed with a peremptory 6-0 6-3 in an hour and eight minutes of play. In the third round Sinner will face the winner of the match between the Russian Pavel Kotov and the Australian Jordan Thompson.

“Playing against Lori is not easy, we have a good friendship off the court, we often train together and we have played the Davis Cup together. But I tried to put all this aside.” Jannik Sinner shows all the respect he has for his friend Sonego after dominating him 6-0 6-3 in the second round of the ATP 1000 in Madrid. “I started well, I played a very solid game from behind.
