Rain of recognition for the oils of Tuscia, on the occasion of the final ceremony of the Premio Roma Evo regional competition, now in its 31st edition this year. The ceremony took place in recent days in Rome, in the Hall of the Temple of Vibia Sabina and Hadrian of the Chamber of Commerce.

First place in the “Light fruity” category

As regards the companies from Tuscia awarded, the first place in the “Light fruity” category of extra virgin olive oil was Colli Etruschi di Blera with the label “Colli Etruschi Io Bio”. Special mention for the “Intense fruitiness” of the extra virgin olive oil from the Cioccolini di Vignanello mill with the “Monocultivar Caninese” label. Five companies awarded for the “Canino Dop”.

For the “Light fruity” category, first prize went to Olivicola di Canino with the “Dop Canino”, second place went to the Laura De Parri farm with the “Cerrosughero”. In the “Medium fruity” category, the Gentili mill of Farnese wins first prize with the “Dop Canino Gentili”, while the Etruscan Kantharos of Gelsomini Flavia di Canino is second place with its “Dop Canino”. In the “Intense fruity” category, first prize goes to the Canino cooperative oil mill with the “Canino DOP”.

“Tuscia Dop”

For the “Tuscia Dop” the podium was won by Colli Etruschi di Blera with the “Evo Tuscia Dop” label (first place) and Sciuga di Montefiascone with the “Il Molino Tuscia Dop” label (second place).
Laura De Parri’s farm from Canino returns to the podium again with its “Cerrosughero” with two special prizes: the one for the best packaging “Premio Tonino Zelinotti” and the “Feminine enterprise” prize, while the Colli Etruschi from Blera he also won the “Grandi Mercati” award and the critics’ award with his “Evo Tuscia Dop”.

“Extra virgin”

Finally, the Frantoio Cioccolini di Vignanello with the “Monocultivar Caninese” label goes to the Ercole Olivario as finalists, while for the “Dop” we find among the finalists the Olivicola di Canino (with the label “Dop Canino”), the Laura De Parri di Canino farm (with the label “Cerrosughero”), the Colli Etruschi (with the label “Evo Tuscia Dop”) and the Sciuga di Montefiascone (with the label “Il Molino Tuscia dop”).

“A complex and difficult year like this year with a strong reduction in production has nevertheless given satisfaction to the producers who with their perseverance have kept the quality of their product high”, declared the general secretary of the Chamber of Commerce of Rieti Viterbo, Francesco Monzillo, who spoke at the awards ceremony.
